3YM30
The Yanmar 3YM30 is the original 1.115-litre naturally aspirated three-cylinder marine diesel of the YM series, rated 29 mhp (21.3 kW) at 3600 rpm. It is a sailboat auxiliary, sold with a KM2P-1 gear for shaft drive or with an SD20 saildrive, and was superseded by the larger-displacement 3YM30AE.
The 3YM30 launched with the 3YM20 in 2004 and took over from the GM-series 3GM30 as Yanmar's roughly 30 hp auxiliary. It uses a 76 x 82 mm bore and stroke (1.115 L), swirl pre-combustion chamber, in-line injection pump and freshwater cooling via a heat exchanger. Yanmar offered it with the KM2P-1 mechanical cone-clutch reverse gear for a shaft or coupled to the SD20 saildrive (the saildrive version is often referred to as 3YM30C).
An emissions-revised 3YM30E with the same bore, stroke and rating was certified for the US in 2013. From model year 2014 Yanmar's YM line moved to the 3YM30AE, a different 1.266-litre engine rated at 3200 rpm, which is recorded as a separate row.
