6LP-DTE
Yanmar 6LP-DTE: 250 hp (184 kW) at 3800 rpm, 4.163-litre turbocharged, intercooled six-cylinder marine diesel with two valves per cylinder.
The 6LP is Yanmar's 4.163-litre six-cylinder high-speed marine diesel (94 x 100 mm) with a belt-driven overhead camshaft, turbocharger and intercooler, built for light, fast motorboats at a rated 3800 rpm. The first generation came in two ratings: the 6LP-DTE with two valves per cylinder and the 6LP-STE with four. In 1998 Yanmar supplied both without a marine gear and recommended a ZF-Hurth HSW630. By 2001 they were also offered as -ZE versions for MerCruiser Bravo sterndrives. Around 2001-2002 they were replaced by the 6LPA-DTP and 6LPA-STP.
The DTE is the lower rating, with a continuous output of 154 kW (210 hp) at 3600 rpm. The sterndrive version was the 6LP-DTZE. It was followed by the 260 hp 6LPA-DTP.
