Yanmar Marine engine

6CX-GTE2

In production 1999–present

Yanmar 6CX-GTE2: 500 hp (368 kW) at 2900 rpm, 7.413-litre turbocharged, intercooled six-cylinder marine diesel, the highest-rated mechanical CX for pleasure boats.

The 6CX-GTE2 is the uprated version of the 7.413-litre (110 x 130 mm) 6CX-GTE, giving 368 kW (500 hp) at 2900 rpm for the same 825 kg. Yanmar supplied it without a marine gear (catalogued as 6CXM-GTE2) and pitched it at fast motor yachts, citing its low 905 mm height and 824 mm width.

It was the only CX pleasure rating left in Yanmar Japan's catalogue from 2002 to at least 2005. In 2009 Yanmar introduced the common-rail 6CX530, which its press release said keeps the same dimensions as its predecessor.
