Yanmar 6CX-ETE: 420 hp (309 kW) at 2700 rpm, 7.127-litre turbocharged, intercooled six-cylinder marine diesel for larger motor yachts in the 1990s.
The 6CX is Yanmar's larger six-cylinder marine diesel. The 6CX-ETE was its 1990s pleasure-craft rating, with a 110 x 125 mm bore and stroke and 7.127 litres, turbocharged and intercooled, rated 308.9 kW (420 hp) at 2700 rpm. Yanmar sold it with a straight marine gear (hydraulic multi-disc clutch) or as the gearless 6CXM-ETE.
Around 1999-2001 it was followed by the longer-stroke 7.413-litre 6CX-GTE (465 hp) and 6CX-GTE2 (500 hp). Commercial CX ratings such as the 6CX-ETYE and 6CX-GTYE are not covered here.
