Yanmar Marine engine
3JH5E
In production 2010–present
JH5-generation Yanmar diesel: naturally aspirated 1.642 L inline three rated 39 hp at 3000 rpm, a common sailboat auxiliary.
The JH5 series (about 2010) updated the naturally aspirated JH4 engines with a new fuel system (mono-plunger pump) and combustion system for EPA Tier 2 / RCD compliance, keeping the same 88 mm-bore blocks and 3000 rpm rated speed. They sold alongside the turbo 4JH4-TE/HTE until the common-rail JH-CR engines arrived.
The 3JH5E replaced the 3JH4E and was offered with KM35P or KM35A gears or the SD50 saildrive (later SD60). Its common-rail successor is the 3JH40.
