Yanmar Marine engine

3HM35F

The Yanmar 3HM35F is the freshwater-cooled version of the 3HM35: a 1.282-litre three-cylinder marine diesel rated 34 hp (25 kW) at 3400 rpm with a heat exchanger. It was used in larger sailboats, with a KBW10E gear for shaft drive or an SD30 saildrive.

The 3HM35 is the largest engine of Yanmar's GM10-generation small-diesel family, a longer-stroke three-cylinder (80 x 85 mm, 1.282 L) that replaced the original 3HM (75 x 85 mm, 1.126 L). It is a vertical four-stroke with swirl pre-combustion chamber and electric starting, rated lower in rpm than the GM engines. The F version adds a closed freshwater cooling circuit with heat exchanger; rating is unchanged from the seawater-cooled 3HM35.

It was sold with the KBW10E reverse gear (wet multi-disc clutch, ratios 2.14 or 2.83:1) or, as the 3HM35FC, with the SD30 saildrive.
