Yanmar 6LY2A-STP: 440 hp (324 kW) at 3300 rpm, 5.813-litre turbocharged, intercooled six-cylinder marine diesel with mechanical in-line injection.
The 6LY2A is the mechanically injected (in-line pump) 5.813-litre (106 x 110 mm) six-cylinder in Yanmar's LY family, with turbocharger and intercooler. Yanmar pairs it with Kanzaki KMH60A or ZF280-1/280-1A gears; an earlier datasheet shows a KM2P-1 gear.
The STP replaced the 420 hp 6LY2-STE around 2002. It has the same 440 mhp rating as the later electronic 6LY3-STP. Yanmar still lists it as a current powerboat engine alongside the lower 370 hp 6LY2A-UTP.
