Yanmar Marine engine
4JH-DTE
In production 1985–1989
Original-generation Yanmar JH diesel: highest-output turbocharged and intercooled 1.644 L inline four, 77 hp at 3600 rpm.
The original JH series was Yanmar's first four-cylinder JH family: a 78 x 86 mm, 1.644 L direct-injection, freshwater-cooled block with a Yanmar YPES in-line injection pump, shared by four ratings (4JHE, 4JH-TE, 4JH-HTE, 4JH-DTE). It was replaced by the larger-bore JH2 series (1.817 L) at the end of the 1980s.
The 4JH-DTE is the top rating, with a corrugated-fin intercooler and KBW21 gear; Yanmar's operation manual separately lists a 4JH-DTBE package with KM4-A down-angle gear.
Its successor was the 4JH2-DTE.
