JH4-generation Yanmar diesel: naturally aspirated 2.19 L inline four rated 54 hp at 3000 rpm; revised-injection-pump successor to the 4JH4E.
The JH4 series (2004) introduced a new 88 mm-bore block and combustion system for the naturally aspirated models (3JH4E 1.642 L, 4JH4E 2.19 L) with the rated speed cut to 3000 rpm; Yanmar claimed about 25% more torque and lower noise than the JH3. The turbo JH4 models (4JH4-TE, 4JH4-HTE) kept the 84 mm-bore 1.995 L block at 3200 rpm.
The 4JH4AE (from 2007) is the 4JH4E with a new injection pump design. Yanmar's 2006 manual lists KM35P, ZF30M, KM35A2 and KM4A1 gears and the SD50 saildrive.
It was replaced by the 4JH5E around 2010.
