Yanmar Marine engine

6LF530

In production 2020–present

The Yanmar 6LF530 is a 530 mhp (390 kW) 6.7-litre inline six-cylinder common-rail turbo diesel rated at 3000 rpm, sold as an inboard package with ZF gears for planing and semi-planing motor yachts and tenders.

The 6LF series (6LF485, 6LF530, 6LF550) was introduced at boot Dusseldorf in January 2020, together with the larger 6LT, and became available from the third quarter of 2020. It extended Yanmar's common-rail line-up beyond the previous 440 mhp ceiling of the 6LY-CR. All three ratings use a 6.728-litre, 104 x 132 mm inline-six with Bosch common-rail injection, turbocharger and intercooler, rated at 3000 rpm, and share a 780 kg dry weight without gear.

Yanmar supplies the 6LF as a complete package of engine, ZF marine gear and the VC20 vessel control system (up to three engines and four stations), with Yanmar-specific fuel mapping and a larger mixing elbow. Yanmar lists shaft and jet applications, single- or 2-pole electrical systems and secondary alternators. It is aimed at large superyacht tenders, planing and semi-planing motor yachts up to about 55 ft and light-duty commercial craft.

The 6LF530 is the middle rating.
