D11-IPS950

In production 2013–present

The Volvo Penta D11-IPS950 is an IPS pod-drive package built on the 725 hp 10.84-litre six-cylinder D11, introduced in 2013 as the replacement for the D11-IPS900.

The D11-IPS950 pairs the top 533 kW (725 hp) rating of Volvo Penta's 10.84-litre in-line six D11 — twin-entry turbo, mechanical compressor and intercooler — with the IPS forward-facing pod drive. The 950 denotes claimed conventional inboard-shaft equivalence, not crankshaft power. Announced in August 2013 with the new-generation D11, it replaced the IPS900 with more power, lower emissions and a package dry weight cut to 1329 kg. Twin, triple and quad installations in planing hulls, 22 to 40 knots.
