D13-IPS1200

The Volvo Penta D13-IPS1200 is an IPS pod-drive package built on the 900 hp 12.8-litre six-cylinder D13 with two-stage turbocharging.

The D13-IPS1200 pairs a 662 kW (900 hp) Rating 5 pleasure-craft tune of Volvo Penta's 12.8-litre in-line six D13 with the IPS forward-facing pod drive. The 1200 is a performance-equivalence number for the inboard-shaft installation it replaces, not the crankshaft figure. It sits between the IPS1050 and IPS1350 in the big-boat ladder, is offered with a self-docking-capable SD variant, and is fitted in twin, triple and quad sets in large planing yachts at about 2475 kg per package with the IPS30 pod.
