Volvo Penta Marine engine

D13-IPS1350

The Volvo Penta D13-IPS1350 is the most powerful IPS pod-drive package, built on the 1000 hp 12.8-litre six-cylinder D13 with two-stage turbocharging.

The D13-IPS1350 pairs the top 735 kW (1000 hp) rating of Volvo Penta's 12.8-litre in-line six D13 with the IPS forward-facing pod drive. The 1350 is a claimed conventional inboard-shaft equivalence, not crankshaft power — the engine itself makes 1000 hp at 2400 rpm. It tops the ladder and is fitted in twin, triple and quad installations in large planing yachts, covering a wide 19 to 44 knot speed range at roughly 2480 kg per package with the IPS30 pod; an SD variant is also catalogued.
