V6-280
The Volvo Penta V6-280 is the top-rated version of the current-generation 4.3-litre GM V6 marine petrol engine, giving 280 hp.
The highest of the three ratings - 200, 240 and 280 hp - of the 4.3-litre (262 cu in) V6 that replaced the 4.3GL/4.3GXi generation in the middle 2010s. Same block, 99.6 x 92 mm bore and stroke and 11.0:1 compression as the lower ratings, with variable valve timing, closed cooling and Volvo Penta EVC electronic engine management; full-throttle range is 5400-5800 rpm. At 280 hp it offers what the old 5.7Gi V8 did on two fewer cylinders and less weight. Sold as an Aquamatic sterndrive on the DPS twin-prop drive and in Forward Drive packages.
