Sunseeker 57 Predator

The Predator 57 line was introduced at the January 2015 London Boat Show as a fully enclosed, all-weather sportscruiser distinguished by cockpit doors that slide and vanish into the deck and one of the largest retracting hardtop roofs Sunseeker had fitted to a boat this size. Sunseeker replaced that original Mk1 with a Mk2 version at the Cannes Yachting Festival in September 2017, restyled with pillarless saloon windows for improved outward visibility while keeping the Mk1's basic hull, dimensions and party trick of a saloon and cockpit that merge into one open space. Length overall is 18.24 m, beam 4.70 m, and draught 1.30 m at full load; full-load displacement is quoted at 27,900 kg.

Below decks, the layout sleeps up to six guests across a full-beam midships master cabin, a forward VIP cabin with an island berth, and a third cabin that doubles as a lower dinette or an ensuite for guests, sharing the VIP's bathroom; there are two guest heads plus a crew cabin and crew heads aft. The tender garage, accessed via a teak-planked hydraulic bathing platform, is sized for a Williams 325 tender. Sunseeker's own specification credits the exterior design, interior design and naval architecture to its in-house team.

Sunseeker's Mk2 specification lists three engine packages on shaft or pod drive: twin Volvo Penta D13-800 diesels at 800 hp each (32 knots), twin D13-900 diesels at up to 900 hp each (32.5 knots), and twin Volvo Penta D11-IPS950 pod units at 725 hp each (33 knots) for quieter running and joystick control. The manufacturer's maximum quoted output is 1,800 hp, from the twin D13-900 option. Fuel capacity is 2,200 litres and fresh water 600 litres.

Robb Report covered the Mk2's Cannes 2017 launch, noting its 'curves of its hardtop and extensive use of glass' with an opening sunroof over the hardtop itself. A 2019 video tour by vlogger Aquaholic, filmed in Poole, highlighted the hi-lo bathing platform and beach-club area with a hidden barbecue, the movable bulkhead joining saloon and cockpit, and the helm-operated retracting roof. Sunseeker sold close to 30 examples of the original Mk1 within its first year on sale, according to Motor Boat & Yachting's contemporary report on the Mk1, with the range continuing to sell strongly into the Mk2 era before the model was discontinued in 2019.
