D6-300

The Volvo Penta D6-300 is a first-generation D6 rating of 221 kW (300 hp) sold as an Aquamatic DPH sterndrive package. It is the lowest-output and lowest-revving member of the late gen-1 DPH sterndrive line-up, turbocharged and aftercooled with no supercharger.

The D6-300 is a lower-rpm calibration of the 5.5-litre gen-1 D6, peaking at 3300 rpm rather than the 3500 rpm used by most of the range, and was catalogued as an Aquamatic Duoprop DPH sterndrive package rather than as a shaft inboard. Volvo Penta's DPH data sheet groups it with the D6-340, D6-380 and D6-400 and states explicitly that there is no belt-driven compressor on the 300 hp and 340 hp calibrations — those two run turbo and aftercooler only. The package is a complete drive-and-engine unit with transom shield, G-series Duoprop propellers and EVC integration. Gen-1 D6 was replaced by the 2021 D6 refresh.
