Sunseeker Superhawk 55

In production 2023–present

The Superhawk 55 is a 17.13 m open performance yacht from Sunseeker, launched in 2023 as the first model to carry the Superhawk name in about 14 years. Twin Volvo Penta IPS950 pod drives give it a top speed near 40 knots, and its hull and engine package went on to underpin the Predator 55, which pairs the same running gear with a different, enclosed deck.

The Superhawk 55 is a 17.13 m (56'2") open performance yacht built by Sunseeker in Poole, England, and revealed at the 2023 Dusseldorf boat show — the first model to carry the Superhawk name in around 14 years. It has an all-new composite (GRP) hull with an aggressively raked profile and large hull-side windows, styled in-house by Sunseeker.

Accommodation comprises a forward VIP stateroom and a full-beam amidships master cabin with its own galley and head. A centreline helm seats three abreast behind a three-quarter windscreen, and the full-beam aft cockpit — with wet bar, grill, pop-up TV and seating reconfigurable for up to 24 guests — extends forward to the helm with side gates onto the foredeck; a hardtop is optional, and the tender garage takes a Williams MiniJet.

Power comes from twin Volvo Penta D11-IPS950 pod drives (2 x 725 hp, 1,450 hp combined), the only package reported by sources, giving a top speed of about 38-40 knots and a cruising speed around 30 knots, with a range of roughly 235 nautical miles at that pace (about 500 nm throttled back to 10 knots). Power & Motoryacht recorded a top speed near 38 knots on test.

Demand reportedly outpaced Sunseeker's plans, with around 50 orders taken within two months of launch. Its hull and IPS950 engine package went on to underpin the Predator 55, unveiled at Cannes in September 2024 with a fresh, fully enclosed deck moulding and more generous accommodation in place of the Superhawk's open, full-beam cockpit; the Predator 55 lists about GBP 60,000 above the Superhawk.
