D6-350
The Volvo Penta D6-350 is a first-generation D6 rated 257 kW (350 hp), sold as an Aquamatic Duoprop DPH sterndrive package. It was one of the first D6 ratings to combine a turbocharger with a belt-driven mechanical supercharger.
Announced in August 2004 alongside the D6-370, the D6-350 was the sterndrive half of Volvo Penta's push to give diesel the high-speed manners of a petrol V8. Where the shaft-drive ratings ran turbo-only, the D6-350 adds a belt-driven compressor with absorption silencers on both ports, which fills in boost before the freshwater-cooled turbocharger comes on song — Volvo Penta's own copy credits the compressor with 'unique torque over the whole speed range'. It was supplied as a complete Aquamatic package with the then-new corrosion-resistant aluminium DPH Duoprop drive, hydraulic X-act steering, integrated exhaust and seawater intake, and EVC electronic shift, throttle and power trim. Part of the gen-1 D6 family superseded by the 2021 refresh.
