D6-310
The Volvo Penta D6-310 is a first-generation D6 inboard rated 228 kW (310 hp) at 3500 rpm. It uses a freshwater-cooled turbocharger and aftercooler with no supercharger.
One rung above the D6-280 in the gen-1 D6 shaft-drive line-up, the D6-310 shares the same 5.5-litre cast-iron inline-six block, common-rail injection, twin overhead camshafts and rear-end camshaft transmission, and is simply calibrated for more power. Volvo Penta's product sheet offers it with the HS63AE, HS63IVE, HS80AE or HS80IVE hydraulically shifted reverse gear, with V-drive available and the EVC system handling electronic shift and throttle. Like the other lower ratings it is turbo-and-aftercooler only — the belt-driven compressor arrived with the 350 hp and higher calibrations. Superseded, with the rest of gen-1 D6, by the 2021 D6 refresh.
