Volvo Penta
Volvo Penta is the marine and industrial engine arm of Sweden's Volvo Group, headquartered in Gothenburg, supplying engines and complete propulsion systems for leisure and commercial boats.
Volvo Penta traces back to the Penta engine works founded in 1907 and has been part of Volvo since 1935. In leisure marine it is best known for its D-series common-rail diesels, the Aquamatic sterndrive and the IPS forward-facing pod drive, sold as complete helm-to-propeller packages.
