D13-IPS1050

The Volvo Penta D13-IPS1050 is an IPS pod-drive package built on the 800 hp 12.8-litre six-cylinder D13 with two-stage turbocharging.

The D13-IPS1050 pairs a 588 kW (800 hp) rating of Volvo Penta's 12.8-litre in-line six D13 — dual-stage turbo with twin charge air coolers — with the IPS forward-facing pod drive. The 1050 is a claimed conventional inboard-shaft equivalence, not crankshaft power. It is the entry rung of the big-boat IPS ladder that took the system into 60 to 100+ foot yachts, always in twin, triple or quad installations, with a package dry weight of about 2470 kg per unit including the IPS30 pod.
