Princess V45

The V45 was launched in 2007 and built until 2013, with 124 boats made. Princess designed it to take Volvo IPS pods as an option, but the prototype showed the hull's deadrise was too steep for pods to work well, so only that prototype had IPS. Every other boat has sterndrives, which leaves an unusually large engine room.

On deck there is an electric sliding sunroof over a sociable cockpit, and a tender garage with a hydraulically operated door that Motor Boat & Yachting's used-boat report found took a Williams 285 jet tender. Below, a saloon with a 2.8m dinette converts to a double, and the galley is to port. The forward master cabin has a central double and an en-suite with a separate circular shower. The aft cabin has transverse twin beds that convert to a double and its own en-suite.

Motor Boat & Yachting's 2007 test boat had twin Volvo Penta D6-350 diesels and reached 34.6 knots, noting the boat was about 30% more economical than a comparable shaft-drive boat. Later boats had D6-370s as standard, and D6-400s were offered. An owner quoted in the 2022 used-boat report found the D6-370s a little underpowered for a heavily loaded boat in rougher water.
