Sunseeker Predator 62

The hull is a Don Shead design in solid GRP with composite-cored decks, a moderate-vee planing profile with semi-tunnels for the shafts, prop tunnels, transom-hung rudders and power steering. Overall length is 19.60 m, beam 5.00 m, and draught 1.54 m, with a half-load displacement of about 29,000 kg. The Predator 62 sat in the middle of Sunseeker's 2000s Predator line of fully enclosed, hardtop-cabin sportscruisers, below the larger Predator 68/74 and above the smaller Predator 58.

Accommodation is arranged over three cabins and two heads for six berths. A full-beam owner's stateroom occupies the amidships section, with a VIP guest cabin in the bow and a third cabin fitted with adult-length bunks. Sunseeker offered an optional utility room in place of a crew cabin, intended for provisions and water toys rather than live-aboard crew.

Standard power was twin MAN V8-900 diesels rated at 900 hp each, driving conventional shafts, for a combined 1,800 hp. Diesels rated up to 1,100 hp each from Caterpillar were offered as an upgrade, though no source found names the specific Caterpillar model. On the standard MAN engines the boat reached about 30 knots flat out (29 knots on a tested example) and cruised comfortably in the mid-20s; at a 21.2-knot, 1,800 rpm cruise, fuel burn was about 210 l/h for a range above 275 nautical miles.

The Predator 62 was introduced around 2005, with production running to 2009, placing it in the generation of Sunseeker Predators built before the range moved to pod drives and to the flybridge/no-flybridge sibling pairs seen today on the 65 and 75. It has since been discontinued and is no longer part of Sunseeker's current range.

Contemporary coverage focused on handling and comfort rather than criticism: a Boatpoint Magazine review republished by Denison Yacht Sales praised the boat's turn of speed and cruising manners, and noted the full-beam owner's suite as unusually generous for a boat of this size.
