Princess V58

In production 2016–2018 Designed by Olesinski (naval architecture)

The second-generation Princess V58 (2016-2018) is a 60ft (18.42m) sportscruiser. It was sold as an Open, with a single-level cockpit and sunroof, or as a Deck Saloon, whose saloon can be closed off with sliding doors. It has three cabins and twin Volvo Penta D13 diesels on shafts, and the Open won MBY's sportscruiser over 45ft award in 2017.

The V58 name has been used twice. The first V58 was built from 2002 to 2007. It was slightly shorter at 18.19m overall with a 4.62m beam, and it had twin Volvo Penta D12-800 or Caterpillar C15 diesels. The second generation, which this page describes, appeared as the V58 Open at the autumn 2015 boat shows. A Deck Saloon version followed at the 2016 Southampton Boat Show, and both were built until 2018. MBY credits the hull shape to Olesinski's input.

The Open has one large cockpit level with a wet bar and sunroof. The Deck Saloon adds sliding patio doors at the rear of the saloon so the space can be closed and climate-controlled. Below deck there is an owner's stateroom with an en-suite, a forward double that converts to scissor berths and has an en-suite with day access, and a starboard twin cabin. An optional aft cabin has a single berth and its own WC. A garage under the aft sunpad takes the tender.

Princess offered twin Volvo Penta D13-800s, quoting 34-36 knots, or D13-900s, quoting 35-37 knots, on conventional shafts. Motor Boat & Yachting's 2015 test called the Open an old-school sportscruiser that 'will romp along at 35 knots'. The Open won the Sportscruiser over 45ft category at the 2017 Motor Boat Awards.
