Sunseeker Portofino 46

The Portofino 46 measures 14.76m overall with a 4.19m beam and 1.17m draft, displacing around 14,650kg at half load. Like other Sunseekers of the era it rides on a deep-V planing hull with propeller tunnels that reduce shaft angle without adding draft. A wide beam for its length gives it more interior volume than its length alone would suggest.

Below decks the accommodation is arranged around a forward master stateroom with en suite head, and an aft mid-cabin guest stateroom with twin single beds and its own private head, for two cabins and two heads in total. The saloon and galley sit between them. On deck the cockpit has U-shaped lounge seating aft, a wet bar with fridge, bottle storage and a barbecue, plus a foldaway cocktail table; most boats were fitted with teak decks and a hydraulic lifting swim platform, though engine-room access is cramped.

Power is twin Volvo Penta diesels rated at 480hp each (960hp total) on fixed shafts, giving a cruise of around 28 knots and a top speed in the low 30s. Fuel capacity is 1,310 litres and fresh water 375 litres.

The Portofino 46 continued the Portofino line Sunseeker had run since the 31 of the 1980s, sitting between the smaller Portofino 400 and the larger Portofino 53 in the early-2000s range before the model was succeeded by the Portofino 47 in 2006. Contemporary reviewers rated it a strong performer for its class, with HMY's powerboat guide calling it "a popular boat in her day" noting its meticulous fit and finish.
