Sunseeker Manhattan 60
The Manhattan 60 was a larger flybridge motor yacht in Sunseeker's Manhattan range, built in Poole, England, from 2005 to 2009. At 19.6 m LOA she offered three ensuite cabins for up to six guests on a GRP planing hull designed with naval architect Don Shead. This is a separate, larger hull from the Manhattan 52/55/56 platform, not a version of it.
The Manhattan 60 measures 19.6 m overall (including pulpit) on a 5 m beam, with a full-load draft of 1.49 m, a half-load waterline length of 14.67 m and a half-load displacement of 31,000 kg; hull and superstructure are GRP. Exterior styling came from Design Unlimited working with Sunseeker's own design team, the interior from Sunseeker Design, and naval architecture from Don Shead Yacht Design together with Sunseeker Design.
Three ensuite cabins accommodate up to six guests: a master with a walk-in wardrobe, a VIP, and a twin cabin sharing a bathroom, with three guest heads and a shared day head; up to two crew could be carried in an optional crew area. Motor Boat & Yachting's review described an exceptionally spacious two-tier saloon with 'superyacht sized' windows, with the galley placed a deck down at cabin level -- a deliberate trade-off favouring saloon space over galley convenience -- plus extensive flybridge and cockpit seating with hi-lo tables.
Two engine makes were offered: twin Volvo Penta D12-800 diesels, 775 hp each for 1,550 hp combined, recording around 28 knots in Motor Boat & Yachting's trial; or twin MAN diesels, reported at 900 hp each in the same review (a two-way average of 29.9 knots) though other sources describe a 1,000 hp MAN V10 alternative -- no source gives an exact MAN model designation for either figure, so no MAN engine option is catalogued here. Cruising speed with the MAN engines was 23 knots for a range of 243 nm at 1,950 rpm.
Designed by Don Shead with Sunseeker, the Manhattan 60 was in production from 2005 to 2009 as the first-generation model of that name; it sits above the Manhattan 52/55/56 platform in size and is a distinct, larger hull rather than a stretched version of it. Motor Boat & Yachting praised her 'sporty handling' and precise steering for a 31-tonne boat, calling the saloon 'improbably roomy' with outstanding practical design, but criticised the flybridge helm's poor ergonomic adjustability.
