Sunseeker 131 Yacht
The Sunseeker 131 Yacht is a 40.05 m tri-deck motor yacht built by Sunseeker International in Poole, England, and produced from 2016 to 2024. It was the flagship of the Superyacht range, also marketed by the yard as the 40M Yacht, with 16 hulls built before being succeeded by the 134 Superyacht.
The 131 Yacht is a 40.05 m tri-deck motor yacht built by Sunseeker International in Poole, England, with a beam of 8.09 m, a draft of 2.85 m and a light/half-load displacement of 189,600 kg. Motor Boat & Yachting's June 2015 preview, published ahead of the design's unveiling, described it as sharing its platform with an earlier "40M Yacht"; Sunseeker's own archived model page later carried the title "Sunseeker 131 Superyacht | 40M Luxury Yacht", so the two names may describe the same model rather than two distinct hulls, and that is not resolved here.
The tri-deck layout sleeps up to ten guests as standard in five en-suite cabins, extendable to twelve under Sunseeker's bespoke programme, with crew quarters for up to nine. Sunseeker's own description places a lounge, separate dining area and full galley on the main deck, with a sky lounge, cocktail bar and access to the Skydeck on the deck above; Motor Boat & Yachting's 2015 preview also noted a trio of large hull windows lighting the master suite, saloon and upper saloon, and a tender garage able to take a six-metre tender and a pair of personal watercraft.
Two shaft-driven MTU engine options are listed on Sunseeker's own specification page: the 12V 4000 M93 at 3,181 PS a side (about 3,140 hp, per third-party listings), or the IMO Tier III-compliant 16V 2000 M97L at 2,640 PS. On the larger option this gives a top speed of up to 25 knots and a range of about 1,600 nautical miles at a 12-knot cruise from the standard 21,650-litre fuel capacity; other sources describe an optional long-range tank taking capacity to 26,700 litres for over 2,000 nautical miles at 11 knots, a figure not carried on the yard's current specification page.
Revealed by Motor Boat & Yachting in June 2015 ahead of a January 2016 launch at the London Boat Show, the 131 Yacht had its first four hulls sold before the public unveiling. Sunseeker built 16 examples up to 2024, when YachtBuyer's model database records the 134 Superyacht as its successor.
