Sunseeker Manhattan 56

The Manhattan 56 measures 17.21 m overall on a 4.87 m beam, with a full-load draft of 1.37 m and a half-load displacement of 27,000 kg -- the same principal dimensions as the Manhattan 52 Mk2 (2016) and Manhattan 55 (2021) before it. Sunseeker has restyled this one 17.21 m x 4.87 m hull twice, under two different model names, rather than developed three separate boats. Hull and superstructure are GRP, consistent with the rest of the range, though Sunseeker's own current spec page does not restate the material for this specific model. Design Unlimited did the interior, described by Yachting Magazine as 'a calmer, more residential design direction' with warm natural materials replacing the previous generation's high-gloss finishes; no exterior designer is separately credited.

Motor Boat & Yachting, reviewing the 56 against the outgoing 55, described the changes as 'more tinkering around the edges than wholesale changes,' concentrated at the stern: the GRP 'shark fin' moulding at the flybridge's trailing edge gave way to a lower, neater fairing that opens up the dinette's view, the transom was reworked around a new cockpit dinette convertible to a full sunpad, and the front side windows lost their GRP 'spear' for a larger glazed area and better helm sightlines. The three-cabin layout, two bathrooms, large aft galley with wine cooler and expansive flybridge and foredeck lounge otherwise carry over unchanged from the 55, including a full-beam owner's suite with a curved king-size berth and a modular aft cockpit flowing to the Beach Club bathing platform.

Sunseeker's own technical spec table lists the engine as 'MAN up to 1,600 PS (Total)' with propulsion on shafts or pods, and Motor Boat & Yachting's sea trial cites twin 800 hp MAN engines for a 32-knot top speed. Separately, the same sunseeker.com page's marketing copy, plus Denison Yacht Sales and Yachting Magazine, describe the engine as twin Volvo Penta D13-800 diesels (800 hp each, 1,600 hp combined) with shaft or IPS pod drive, for roughly 25-knot cruise and a little over 30 knots flat out. No source gives an exact MAN model designation, so only the labelled Volvo Penta option is catalogued here; Sunseeker's 'up to 1,600 PS' figure (about 1,578 hp) is kept as the recorded max_hp since it is the primary spec table's own headline number, even though it reads marginally below the labelled Volvo option's 1,600 hp -- a PS/hp unit quirk between the two engine makes, not a real power gap. Range is quoted at up to 230 nm at 21 knots, with pricing from GBP1.6m.

The Manhattan 56 made its world debut at boot Dusseldorf in January 2026. Motor Boat & Yachting judged the incremental changes over the 55 a functional improvement rather than a dramatic overhaul; the 55 it replaces had, per YachtBuyer, gained 'worldwide acclaim' over a production run of 103 units.
