Sunseeker Hawk 38

The Hawk 38 is an 11.85 m (38'11") open day boat built by Sunseeker in Poole, England. Its triple-stepped, 24-degree deadrise hull was designed by Italian racing engineer Fabio Buzzi of FB Design, refining the hull that had earlier underpinned Buzzi's XS and FB 38 patrol boat; Sunseeker's in-house studio designed the leisure deck and helm console. The hull uses Buzzi's structural foam-injection process for rigidity, sound damping and unsinkable buoyancy, with Hypalon STAB tubes along each topside for stability and built-in fendering.

The cockpit seats four at the helm on shock-absorbing bucket seats with electric bolsters, plus a three-seat aft bench. The foredeck converts between a sunpad and a dinette, and a carbon-fibre bow locker can stow a pair of SEABOBs. There is no separate cabin; a compartment below the console holds the boat's only toilet, along with a vanity unit, sink, skylight and a 5-inch touchscreen for the boat's systems.

Sunseeker fits the Hawk 38 with twin Mercury Racing 400R outboards (2 x 400 hp, 800 hp combined) as standard, driving Mercury Racing Digital Zero Effort throttles; more powerful outboard options were offered to special order, though sources do not name a specific package. On test, a prototype reached 68.6 knots on Lake Como, and Sunseeker quoted a production top speed of up to 62 knots (70 mph) with a range of up to 250 nautical miles.

Sunseeker announced the Hawk 38 in March 2019, marking its return to high-performance day boats after more than a decade, and the first boats were in the water by June 2019; it also served as a superyacht chase boat. Motor Boat & Yachting's Hugo Andreae, testing an early prototype, called it an "extraordinarily civilised high-speed craft" for its quiet, stiff hull and smooth handling at speed. Sunseeker's current range now lists the Hawk 38 among its previous models.
