Sunseeker Manhattan 64

In production 2002–2004 Designed by Don Shead

The Sunseeker Manhattan 64 is a 21.81 m GRP flybridge motor yacht built by Sunseeker International in Poole, England, sold in two closely related generations between 1999 and 2004. It sleeps up to six guests in three cabins and was, for a time, the best-selling model in Sunseeker's motor yacht range.

The Manhattan 64 has a 21.81 m GRP hull and superstructure with a 5.2 m beam, a deep-V planing hull developed from the high-speed hulls Sunseeker built with naval architect Don Shead from 1979 onward; period brokerage listings credit Sunseeker Design/Don Shead for the model's exterior. Half-load displacement is 29,900 kg, with 2,935 litres of fuel and 950 litres of fresh water aboard.

Below deck the boat carries three cabins for up to six guests: a master and a VIP suite each with en-suite heads, and a twin cabin sharing a third head, plus a separate crew cabin for up to two. The flybridge layout, typical of the Manhattan range, puts a second helm and entertaining space above the saloon and cockpit.

Sunseeker offered three inboard shaft-drive diesel packages: twin Caterpillar 3406E E01 rated at 800 bhp each, and two MAN alternatives, the D2848 LE403 at 788 bhp and the more powerful D2840 LE403 at 1,036 bhp; the latter pairing gives the model's maximum output of 2,072 hp.

The first-generation Manhattan 64 (Mk1) ran from 1999 to 2002, at 66'6" (about 20.3 m) overall; a revised Mk2, described here, followed from 2002 to 2004 with a slightly longer 21.81 m hull. Both generations shared the same three engine options. Brokerage sources describe the Manhattan 64 as, for a period, the best-selling model in Sunseeker's entire motor yacht range, reflecting the popularity of the mid-size flybridge format the Manhattan line built its reputation on. The model was discontinued after 2004 as Sunseeker moved the Manhattan line to newer designs, but used examples remain widely traded through yacht brokers today, generally marketed simply as the 'Sunseeker Manhattan 64' without distinguishing the two generations.
