Azimut 60 Fly
The Azimut 60 Fly is an 18.25-metre GRP flybridge motor yacht in the yard's Flybridge collection. It reached the market in 2017 with exteriors by Stefano Righini and interiors by Achille Salvagni, replacing the 2012 generation of the 60. Three cabins sleep six, with a crew cabin aft, and twin shaft-drive diesels of 800 or 900 hp give a quoted 31 knots.
The 60 Fly is one of the smaller boats in Azimut's Flybridge collection, sitting between the Fly 53 and the Fly 62. It measures 18.25 m overall on a 5.05 m beam, with a moderate-vee planing hull - Azimut quotes 15.6 degrees of deadrise aft and 22 degrees amidships - straight-shaft diesels and a full-load draft of 1.46 m.
This generation made its public debut at the Cannes Yachting Festival in September 2017; several databases and brokers instead date it to 2018, and both refer to the same boat. It took over from the earlier 60, which arrived in 2012 as the replacement for the Azimut 58 and was sold with twin 800 hp MAN R6 engines. The model is still catalogued by the yard in 2026. The Fly 62 shown at Cannes in 2024 is about a metre longer and is offered with Volvo Penta IPS pods rather than shafts; Azimut has not presented it as a replacement, and the two models are listed alongside each other.
Accommodation is three guest cabins - a full-beam master amidships, a VIP forward and a twin - sleeping six. Azimut lists three heads plus a separate crew cabin aft with two berths and its own head, which is where published berth and head counts for this boat tend to diverge. Motor Boat & Yachting's test reported that the twin cabin's occupants use the day heads rather than private facilities, while a broker walkthrough describes all three cabins as en suite; the yard's figure of three heads fits either reading. The main deck is on one level, with full-height side glazing, a galley and lower helm forward of the saloon, and a cockpit closed by a hydraulic bathing platform rated for a tender of roughly 3.25 m. The flybridge carries the second helm, seating and a sunpad.
The hull is GRP. Azimut gives the building material as GRP with carbon fibre, and the yard applies carbon lamination to upper structures across this range to cut weight and roll inertia; at least one database instead records a GRP superstructure, and no lamination schedule was published, so the carbon content is best read as the builder's claim rather than a verified detail.
Two engine packages were offered, both on straight shafts: twin MAN i6-800s of 800 hp each, and twin Volvo Penta D13-900s of 900 hp each. Azimut quotes up to 31 knots maximum and 26 knots cruising on the Volvos. Motor Boat & Yachting recorded 30.1 knots on test and settled on 24 knots for cruising, and range is given as 779 nautical miles at 8 knots from 2,800 litres of fuel. Displacement is published as 36 tonnes at full load.
The buyer is an owner-operator or an owner running with one or two crew, cruising the Mediterranean or Florida, who wants a large flybridge and separate crew quarters in a boat still small enough to handle without a professional skipper.
