Princess V48

The name was first used in 2004 for a shaft-drive sports cruiser that Motor Boat & Yachting describes as an evolution of the V46. That boat measured 14.96 m with the pulpit, had a 4.01 m beam and carried 1,680 litres of fuel, and Princess quoted about 13.9 tonnes with twin Volvo D9-575 diesels.

The second V48, launched in 2013, was new from the pods up: a wider, taller hull developed so that it would keep Princess's seakeeping standards on Volvo IPS pod drives. It came as an enclosed deck saloon with an electric opening roof or as the V48 Open with a full-length cockpit. Below are a full-beam owner's cabin amidships and a forward double (scissor berths optional), both en suite, plus a lower saloon that converts to a double berth or can be specified as a third cabin.

The only engine the yard listed is twin Volvo Penta IPS 600 (2 x 435 mhp) with joystick control, for a quoted 32-34 knots. Yachting's Michael Verdon recorded 29.9 knots in 2014 and credited the boat with 'the interior space of a 52-footer'. In 2018 Princess restyled the same hull as the V50.
