Princess V40

Princess first used the V40 name for a 1996-1999 sportscruiser (12.64m, 7.4 tonnes) with twin Volvo KAD44 or KAD42 diesels on Duoprop sterndrives. The current V40 is unrelated to it: it debuted at the Düsseldorf Boat Show in January 2017 as an update of the V39, keeping that boat's hull, sterndrive setup and D6-330 engines, adding full-length hull windows and a new interior with Ralph Lauren fabrics. A 60th Anniversary Edition for 2025 marks the yard's 60th year with its own graphics and 380hp engines.

The cockpit sits under a large fabric sunroof, and a hi-lo bathing platform is an option. Below, the forward owner's cabin has an island double and its own door into the single day heads, which has a separate shower stall. The aft guest cabin runs under the cockpit, with twin beds that slide together into a double. The saloon dinette can be made up as an occasional berth.

The early boats kept the V39's twin D6-330s. Later boats have D6-340s as standard, and the current dealer specification lists twin D6-380s on DPI sterndrives, quoted at 34-36 knots. The V40 was named Best Sportscruiser (up to 45ft) at the 2017 Asia Boating Awards.
