Princess V53
The Princess V53 is a 16.4 m shaft-drive sports cruiser from the mid-2000s, powered by twin Volvo Penta D12 diesels. It has three cabins for six, a hardtop with an opening sunroof, and quoted top speeds of 33-37 knots depending on engine.
The V53 was presented in 2006 and sold until around 2009. It sits on a Bernard Olesinski modified-vee hull with 18 degrees of deadrise aft, and has an integrated hardtop with an opening sunroof over the cockpit and saloon.
Below decks it sleeps six in three cabins: an owner's double forward with its own en suite, and two twin-berth cabins aft, served by two bathrooms. Reviewers singled out the six-person dining settee and the galley's size, and noted that some viewers were disappointed by the third cabin.
All three engine choices were twin Volvo Penta D12 diesels on conventional shafts in tunnels: D12-675 (quoted 30-33 knots), D12-715 (33-35 knots) and D12-800, which Princess printed as 2 x 775 hp (34-37 knots). Motor Boat & Yachting's Nick Burnham tested it in 2010.
