Grandezza 33 OC
The Grandezza 33 OC is a 10.03-metre hardtop sports cruiser that made its debut at the Helsinki Afloat boat show on 16 August 2012 and became the flagship of the Grandezza range, replacing the 31 OC in that role. It has two separate double cabins below, an amidships bathroom with a separate shower, and a cockpit with a three-part sliding sunroof and a full galley. Power is sterndrive only, with Volvo Penta and MerCruiser diesel and petrol options from a single D6-370 up to twin MerCruiser 4.5L 250 petrol engines, a maximum of 500 hp. Motor Boat & Yachting recorded 36 knots on test with the D6-370. The yard's final fact sheet gives CE category B, an upgrade from the C stated at launch.
Oy Finn-Marin Ltd launched the 33 OC at Helsinki Afloat in August 2012 as the next step above the 31 OC, and Motor Boat & Yachting's Nick Burnham, testing it the following spring, wrote that it "transcends its 33ft hull length to feel a far more substantial boat than it is". The layout is what earns that: entry is over a wide swim platform with moulded steps up to both side decks, an extra-long hardtop covers a cockpit with exceptionally high standing headroom, and a three-part sliding sunroof opens the whole roof. The cockpit galley has two sinks, a diesel ceramic hob, a 65-litre fridge and a worktop extension that nearly doubles the working surface. Below, unusually for the size, are two separate cabins each with a fixed double berth, a sofa and a wardrobe, plus a bathroom amidships with a glass-doored shower over a fixed bench. Interior joinery is satin-waxed walnut with Silvertex upholstery.
The hull is GRP, 21 degrees deadrise at the transom, and the boat was updated during its life. The 2012 launch figures were 4600 kg, a 500-litre fuel tank, 100 litres of water, a 100-litre holding tank and CE category C; the yard's final fact sheet gives 4800 kg, 490 litres of fuel, 120 of water, 102 holding and CE category B. The specification block here uses the later, final set. Motor Boat & Yachting's 2013 test still reported category C, consistent with the launch specification, and the German database Boote lists category B — the discrepancy is a genuine change over time rather than a contradiction between sources.
The engine list grew considerably over the model's life. At launch it was Volvo Penta only: a single D6-330 or D6-370 on the DPH duoprop leg, or twin D3-200 or D3-220 on DP-S legs, with joystick control available on the twins. The final list drops the D6-330, adds twin D3-170, and adds a wide MerCruiser range — a single 4.2-litre TDI 370 diesel on a Bravo Three, and twin 4.5-litre 250 hp petrol V8s in SeaCore and raw-water-cooled forms, with the JPS Premier joystick optional — plus a Volvo Penta V6-240 petrol option. Maximum installed power is therefore 500 hp, from twin MerCruiser 4.5L 250s, rather than the 370 hp of the largest single. The yard quotes 35 knots and a 22 to 28 knot cruise with the D6-370.
Data caveats worth carrying: draft 1.20 m is the leg-down figure, established by the way Grandezza's current 30 OC/CA sheet splits the same measurement into "0,70/1,20 M"; Motor Boat & Yachting printed that same 1.20 m under the heading "air draught", which is an error in their table, not a different measurement. And the yard prints the Volvo Penta V6-240 without a "2 x" prefix, so it is recorded here as a single engine even though 240 petrol horsepower in a 4800 kg boat is a surprising entry.
