Grandezza 39 CA

The 39 CA was the boat that moved Grandezza into the forty-foot class and set the template for everything the yard built above 35 feet afterwards. Its central idea is a proper deck saloon rather than a sportscruiser cockpit: the helm and a large dinette sit on the main level under a hardtop, and a wide triple sliding glass door opens the saloon into the aft cockpit to make one large entertaining space. Grandezza also gave the helm direct access to the starboard side deck, a practical Nordic touch that reviewers singled out, and put a full-beam master cabin amidships with a separate forward guest cabin and a single bathroom with a shower enclosure below.

The hull is glassfibre in a vacuum-injected full sandwich laminate, which the yard promoted as light, quiet and stiff. Published figures are 11.95 m overall, 3.95 m beam, 9,000 kg, 920 litres of fuel, 275 litres of water and a 195-litre holding tank, with CE category B certification for ten persons and five permanent berths plus two. Motor Boat & Yachting, testing a twin Volvo Penta D6-370 boat in 2013, recorded roughly 40 knots maximum and 30 knots cruising. Finnish press comparison tests against the Princess V39 and Windy 40 Maestro praised the accommodation, which was the most generous of the group, while noting the ride could feel restless in a chop.

The 39 CA was superseded in 2015 by the 40 CA, launched at the Dusseldorf Boat Show, which stretched the boat to 12.30 m with a larger swim platform, bigger hull windows and more stowage while keeping the beam, tankage and 9,000 kg displacement. The flybridge 40 FLY had already appeared in 2013 on the longer 12.30 m platform, so for two seasons the 39 CA and the 40 FLY were sold alongside one another as the hardtop and flybridge ends of the yard's large-boat offering.

Because this is a discontinued model, several fields here are weaker than for the current fleet and should be read with that in mind. Grandezza's own fact sheet PDF for the 39 CA is no longer retrievable, so the specifications come from the archived manufacturer model page, which is authoritative but less detailed than a modern fact sheet. It publishes a single draft of 1.50 m, matching the drive-down figure the yard later quoted for the 40 CA on the same drive package. No air draft was ever published. The engine record is the weakest part: only one installation could be tied specifically to this model, and its drive designation is disputed between sources, so it has been left unstated rather than guessed.
