Yanmar Sterndrive leg

ZT370

Yanmar's current hydraulic-clutch, twin counter-rotating-propeller sterndrive rated to 370 mhp, sold with the 4LV and 8LV common-rail engines (earlier also BY3 and 6LPA-STZP2) and joystick-capable with JC10.

The ZT370 is a Yanmar-developed sterndrive with hydraulic shifting through multi-plate clutches, counter-rotating front and rear propellers, power steering and power trim. Yanmar rates it at 370 mhp (272 kW) input and offers reduction ratios of 1.65, 1.78, 1.97 and 2.18:1 (the same ahead and astern); trim range is -6 to +10 degrees and trailering tilt 51 degrees. Yanmar's 8LV-Z datasheet and website give a dry weight of 112 kg with propellers; the 6LPA-STZP2 datasheet gives 100 kg without stating the basis. Shift control is mechanical or electro-magnetic.

It was announced with the 8LV V8 diesel at the Miami boat show in February 2011, replacing the ZT350. Engines it has been sold with include the 8LV-320Z/350Z/370Z, the 4LV sterndrive models, the BMW-based BY2 and BY3 Z models and the 6LPA-STZP2; on the BY3 and 6LPA-STZP2 Yanmar also offered MerCruiser Bravo legs as the alternative. Twin installations can be controlled by the VC10 system or the JC10 (now JC10A) joystick. It is in current production.
