Yanmar saildrive of the 1980s-90s with a 2.31:1 reduction, fitted to the 3JH2, 4JH2 and JH3 diesel engines.

The SD31 belongs to the same generation as the SD20 and SD30 in Yanmar's parts catalogue. Its installation manual gives a constant-mesh gear set with a 2.31:1 reduction and a dry weight of 33 kg, and lists it for the 3JH2CE, 3JH2-TCE, 3JH3CE, 4JH2CE and 4JH3CE engines. The 3JH3/4JH3 operation manual offers it alongside the newer SD40 on those engines.

It was followed on the JH3 engines by the SD40, and later by the SD50 and SD60. Exact production years were not found.
