KM35A

Kanzaki-built 7-degree down-angle cone-clutch gear with 2.33 or 2.64:1 forward, sold by Yanmar as KM35A for the 3JH engines and KM35A2 for the naturally aspirated 4JH engines.

The KM35A is a mechanical servo cone-clutch marine gear with a 7-degree down-angle output. Kanzaki's current version, the KM35A-2, is rated at 129 Nm input at 3,800 rpm, with forward ratios of 2.33 and 2.64:1 and a 3.04:1 reverse, 13 kg dry weight, 0.65 L of oil and an SAE #5 flange.

Yanmar's 2020 gear table lists the KM35A for the 3JH5E and 3JH40 and the KM35A2 for the 4JH5E, 4JH45 and 4JH57, with identical ratios and weight. It succeeded the KM3A and is a current product; the in-line alternative is the KM35P.
