SD60
Current Yanmar saildrive with a mechanical multi-plate clutch and 2.23:1 or 2.49:1 reduction, built in SD60-4 and SD60-5 bell-housing versions for the 3JH and 4JH engines up to the 4JH80.
The SD60 is a Yanmar-designed saildrive with a mechanical multiple friction plate clutch and two reduction options, 2.23:1 and 2.49:1, both identical ahead and astern. It comes in two bell housing sizes: the SD60-5 (SAE #5) for the naturally aspirated engines and the SD60-4 (SAE #4) for the turbocharged ones, each with a standard or extended leg. The operation manual gives dry weights of 43.6 kg (SD60-5) and 45.1 kg (SD60-4) for the standard leg, and 48.2 kg and 49.7 kg for the extended versions. Oil can be changed without hauling the boat out.
Yanmar lists it for the 3JH5E, 3JH40, 4JH5E, 4JH45, 4JH4-TE, 4JH57 and 4JH80; the current manual pairs the SD60-5 with the 3JH40, 4JH45 and 4JH57 and the SD60-4 with the 4JH80. It replaced the cone-clutch SD50 around 2013-2014 and is still in production; the larger 4JH80 and 4JH110 can alternatively use the SD110.
