The Volvo Penta D8-IPS800 is an IPS pod-drive package built on the 600 hp D8, a 7.7-litre six-cylinder common-rail diesel with twin-entry turbo and supercharger.
The D8-IPS800 pairs the 600 hp rating of Volvo Penta's 7.7-litre in-line six D8 — a common-rail diesel with twin-entry turbo and supercharger, rated at 3,000 rpm — with the IPS forward-facing pod drive and twin counter-rotating propellers. As a twin installation totalling 1,200 hp it is the most powerful option in the Targa 46.
