V8-250
The 250 hp rating of Mercury's naturally aspirated 4.6-litre 64-degree DOHC V8, sold as FourStroke, Verado, Pro XS and SeaPro.
The V8-250 is the 250 hp tune of the same 4.6-litre 64-degree DOHC 32-valve V8 as the V8-300. Displacement, bore and stroke, cylinder count and the FourStroke / Verado / Pro XS / SeaPro naming split are identical; only the rating changes.
It arrived with the V8-300 on 18 May 2018 and replaced the supercharged 2.6 L inline-6 Verado 250. Published dry weights follow the midsection, not the horsepower, and are omitted for the same reason as the 300.
Pro XS 250 is 250 hp, not a hotter rating. WOT is 5200–6000 on FourStroke and Verado, 5600–6200 on Pro XS, 4800–5600 on SeaPro.
