Diesel 2.0L 170

The current Mercury Diesel 2.0L 170 is the 170 hp rating of Mercury's 2.0-litre inline-four common-rail diesel with variable-geometry turbo, sold as Bravo/Alpha sterndrive or shaft inboard.

This row is the current VGT 170, the top rating on Mercury's live Diesel 2.0L page (115–170 hp). Official copy says the VGT applies to the 150 and 170 models.

It is an inline four, 2.0 litres, common rail, closed cooling, WOT 4000 rpm. The current VGT / EPA Tier 3 170 is 264 kg engine-only in dealer and press tables.

The 170 name was also used on an earlier non-VGT, EPA Tier 2 2.0L at 250 kg. Do not average. This row is the VGT engine.

power_kw is omitted: sources print 125, 129, 127 and 124 kW for 170 hp. Sold as sterndrive and inboard, so engine_type is omitted.
