V6-225

In production 2018–present

Mercury's current 225 hp petrol outboard on the naturally aspirated 3.4-litre 64-degree DOHC V6 FourStroke.

The V6-225 is the top rating of Mercury's 3.4-litre (209 CID) 64-degree DOHC 24-valve V6, a naturally aspirated petrol outboard sharing the 92 × 86 mm bore and stroke of the 4.6 L V8. In the FourStroke catalogue it is a Conventional MidSection engine with WOT 5200–6000, gear ratio 1.85:1 and a published lightest dry weight of 475 lb / 215 kg (20-inch).

It was unveiled on 15 February 2018 at Miami with the 175 and 200, and replaced the previous naturally aspirated FourStroke 225. There is no current Verado on this V6.

Do not fold Pro XS 225 or SeaPro 225 into this row. Both of those 225s are the 4.6 L V8.
