Diesel 3.0L 270
The Mercury Diesel 3.0L 270 is the top 270 mhp (199 kW) rating of Mercury's current 3.0-litre V6 common-rail diesel, sold as a Bravo sterndrive or a ZF shaft inboard.
This is the current Mercury Diesel 3.0L 270, assembled as a Mercury diesel in Fond du Lac and sold under the Mercury name, not MerCruiser. Nord Star already references it as engine_label 'Mercury Diesel 3.0L 270'.
It is a 3.0-litre V6, four valves per cylinder, high-pressure common rail, variable-geometry turbocharger and aftercooler, closed cooling. Official rating is 270 mhp / 199 kW. WOT is 4200 rpm. Dry weight is 348 kg (767 lb) engine-only / bobtail inboard, 358 kg (789 lb) as a Bravo sterndrive package.
It is sold both ways: Bravo One X / Two X / Three X and XR sterndrives, and ZF shaft inboards. engine_type is omitted — the pairing decides.
An earlier Mercury diesel 3.0 was the VW-based TDI 3.0, catalogued around 260 mhp / 191 kW, not 270. Cummins MerCruiser QSD is a different line. Do not average TDI 260 or QSD figures into these numbers.
