Flipper 760 DC

The 760 DC was drawn by the Norwegian designer Espen Thorup as the largest of the day cruisers in Flipper's model renewal of the early 2010s. It shares its lines with the smaller 640 DC and 670 DC but is nearly a metre longer and somewhat wider than the 670 DC. The hull is 7.58 m long and 2.54 m wide in Flipper's own figures, with a dry weight of 1,700 kg without engine, a 256 l fixed fuel tank and CE category C for seven persons.

The layout gives priority to the cockpit over the cabin. The windscreen is placed well forward, which enlarges the cockpit at the expense of the bow cabin, and the cockpit has an L-shaped sofa, a cockpit table, a narrow passage to the swim platform and a sunbed conversion. Instead of a fixed galley, a small single-burner cooker with a sink and tap folds out of the console in front of the passenger seat; the tap is fed by a 48 l fresh water tank, which the 2014 price list sold as an option. The bow cabin holds a V-berth for two and has no deck hatch. A water toilet runs on a rail beneath the cockpit sole and slides into the cabin when needed; a chemical toilet was the cheaper alternative. Flipper lists the berths as 2+2, the second pair being the cockpit sunbed under the canopy.

The boat was sold only with Mercury Verado XL outboards, from 200 to 350 hp. Contemporary tests recorded about 46 to 48 knots with the 300 hp Verado and about 49 knots with the 350 hp version, and around 43 knots with 250 hp. Testers described a light, predictable hull that ran straight at high speed in short, steep seas and needed trim tabs mainly when loaded unevenly; criticisms concerned the low windscreen and limited visibility with the canopy up.

The model was presented at the Helsinki boat show in February 2012 together with the 670 DC and 670 ST, and magazine tests followed in 2012 and 2013. By the 2019 price list it had been replaced by the Flipper 800 DC, which Flipper's Swedish importer describes as its successor and which differs visibly mainly in its additional stern swim platforms and longer overall length.

Within the 2014 range the 760 DC sat at the top of the day cruiser line, above the 600 DC, 640 DC and 670 DC, while the 880 ST was the largest model overall. It was built by Bella-Veneet Oy of Kuopio, part of Raimo Sonninen's Bella Boats group.
