Flipper 600 ST

The 600 ST is the sport-top version of the Flipper 600 series, three boats on a common 6.05 m glass-fibre hull with a 2.22 m beam. The series was designed by the Norwegian designer Espen Thorup. Kippari noted that the type had earlier been called HT (hard top) in the Flipper range and was renamed ST, for Sport Top.

The boat has a short foredeck and a roof carried well forward over the bow berths, leaving the rest of the boat open. Behind the berths are the helm and an L-shaped cockpit sofa. There is no galley, but positions are provided for a small water tap and a drawer refrigerator, and later model pages list a place for a chemical toilet. Standard equipment in 2014 included 2+2 berths, a canopy, a teak-laminate cockpit floor, hydraulic steering and a 130-litre fuel tank. Kippari's 2015 test found the berths under the roof more usable as daytime seating and lounging space than those under the DC's low foredeck.

The boat is rated for 80–150 hp. The 2014 price list and the 2021 model page offered Mercury F80, F100, F115 and F150 L EFI four-stroke outboards; the 2019 page also listed the 115 and 150 hp OptiMax Pro XS two-strokes, and the 2021 page the F115 Pro XS four-stroke.

The 600 ST was named the cruising motorboat of the VENE14BÅT boat show in Helsinki on 12 February 2014, a year after the 640 ST received the same title. Venemestari tested it in autumn 2014, with the full report in issue 5/2015. It stayed on Flipper's model pages after the 600 DC was withdrawn, appearing there in June 2021 with an unchanged 80–150 hp range, and was no longer listed in 2022.

In the 2014 range the 600 ST was the smallest of four sport-top models, below the 640, 670 and 880 ST. By 2019 the sport-top line-up consisted of the 600, 650, 700 and 900 ST.
