D6-IPS650
The Volvo Penta D6-IPS650 is an IPS pod-drive package built on the 480 hp D6, a 5.5-litre six-cylinder common-rail turbodiesel with forward-facing twin counter-rotating propellers.
The D6-IPS650 pairs the top 480 hp rating of Volvo Penta's 5.5-litre D6 turbodiesel with the IPS forward-facing pod drive; the 650 in the name refers to the system's claimed inboard-shaft equivalence, not crankshaft power. Always installed in multiples, it is a twin option in the Targa 41 and 46.
