Yamarin 80 DC
The Yamarin 80 DC is an 8.28-metre glassfibre day cruiser launched for the 2024 season, which combines a conventional day-cruiser cabin with a walkaround-style side access along a lowered foredeck. It has two sleeping cabins, a separate WC and a galley, seats ten and carries CE design category C. Power is a single Yamaha outboard, with the F300 V6 as the standard engine.
The 80 DC was drawn by Yamarin's in-house design team together with R2 Marine, which was responsible for the hull, the Finnish studio Northern Works under designer Miika Heikkinen, and the Italian boat designer Marco Casali. Yamarin describes Casali's brief as combining walkaround and day-cruiser solutions, and the most visible result is the foredeck: the port side is lowered into a sloping walkway so the boat is boarded and traversed along its side rather than over the centre of the bow. The hull is glassfibre-reinforced polyester with a transom deadrise of 18 degrees, 8.28 m long and 2.62 m wide, 2,200 kg without engine, drawing 0.50 m, and certified to CE design category C for ten persons.
Accommodation is arranged over two cabins. The bow cabin has large hull windows and a separate WC compartment, and a second sleeping cabin sits under the cockpit sole; Powerboat & RIB reports four adult berths across the two. The cockpit seats about eight around a table, with a galley carrying a cooker, a refrigerator and a sink, and an aft sunbed formed by a flipping backrest. Fuel capacity is 300 litres and the swimming platforms are finished in Softdeck non-slip.
The boat is rigged with a single extra-long-shaft Yamaha outboard; Yamarin's 2026 brochure gives a 225-300 hp band and the Yamaha F300 V6 as standard. Yamarin quotes a top speed of about 43 knots and a most economical cruise of about 27 knots at 1.6 litres per nautical mile; Swedish tests recorded 41.9 knots with the 300 hp engine and about 1.25 litres per nautical mile at 20 knots. Powerboat & RIB calculates a range of about 160 nautical miles with a 20 per cent reserve.
The model was unveiled at the Helsinki Uiva Flytande boat show in August 2023 and then shown in Oslo, Southampton and Fort Lauderdale, entering the range as a 2024 model. A T-top version was added at the Cannes show in September 2024, giving fixed shade over the cockpit while still allowing a full canopy. The 80 DC was a finalist in the Best of Boats 2024 award in the Best for Family category. An earlier and unrelated Yamarin 80 Day Cruiser existed before this one: its owner's manual records an 8.08 m hull, 2.60 m beam, 1,850 kg, a 261-litre tank, a 350 hp maximum rating, eight persons and an EC type-examination certificate issued through VTT to Selio Boats Oy under Konekesko. The two boats share a name and nothing else, and the specification recorded here is the current one.
In the current range the 80 DC sits between the 67 DC and the 88 DC flagship, and is the model through which the walkaround foredeck was introduced to the Yamarin Cruise line.
