Yamarin 50 BR

The 50 BR uses a glassfibre hull that Yamarin describes as a new design for the model, built as a double shell for stiffness. It is 4.86 m overall by 1.96 m, weighs about 535 kg without engine, draws 0.4 m and stands 1.56 m from keel to the top of the windscreen. CE design category is C. It is the sixth Yamarin model to carry the range's newer design language. Finnish trade coverage notes that the deck moulding and furnishing layout are close to those of the aluminium-hulled Yamarin Cross 49 BR, the two boats differing principally in hull material.

The deck is a twin-console bow rider seating six. Two consoles carry separate helm and companion seats, with a door in the windscreen giving access forward to the bow seating. An upholstered sofa spans the stern, offshore-style seats are standard, and the boat has several lockable stowage compartments, with further space under the bow seats. The fixed 64-litre fuel tank removes the need for a portable tank and so frees the volume under the aft sofa for stowage. Boarding and movement are over wide, uncluttered step surfaces; optional equipment includes an aft canvas, a Softdeck non-slip deck covering and a 10-inch Yamarin Q display combining navigation with engine and battery data.

Power is a single outboard. The owner's manual rates the transom at 44.8 kW (60 hp) and a maximum engine weight of 162 kg, with a maximum load on the builder's plate of 763 kg and an approximate all-up weight of 1346 kg. Yamarin gives a recommended range of 40 to 60 hp and a measured 32 knots at boat test. The factory states that a 40 hp outboard planes the boat and reaches about 25 knots with two aboard, that a Yamaha F60 gives over 30 knots, and that cruising at 22 knots yields a range of roughly 120 nautical miles on one tank. A Swedish test of a 50 hp example recorded a 30-knot top speed and 0.4 litres per nautical mile at 20 knots, rising to 0.6 to 0.7 litres per nautical mile at 30 knots.

The model was announced in October 2021 as a new boat for the 2022 season and shown at the Paris boat show that December; the factory model-year table lists it as running from 2022 to the present. The English, Finnish and Swedish owner's manual reached revision 2 in October 2022. Published tests have praised the stability, helm position and stowage while noting rattles and a hatch between the consoles that did not stay shut.

In the Yamarin glassfibre range the 50 BR is the smallest bow rider, sitting above the 46 SC side console and below the 56 and larger bow riders and day cruisers. It replaced no single earlier model directly: the previous boats of comparable length in the range, the 50 SC and 50 TC, were console boats that ended production in 2016 and 2014 respectively.
